Cushman Trail
The Cushman Trail is a 6.2 mile paved regional trail with trailheads within the city at Borgen Boulevard, Hollycroft Street, and Grandview Street. One point of access is just west of The Maritime Inn on Rosedale Street.
Kopachuck State Park
Kopachuck State Park located 5 miles from The Maritime Inn is a 280-acre, day-use marine park with 5,600 feet of saltwater shoreline on Henderson Bay. One portion of the park, Cutts Island, is a half mile from shore and reachable only by boat. The park offers 2 miles of shaded hiking trails and plenty of adventure down by the beach.
Sehmel Homestead Park
Sehmel Homestead Park is a 98.0 acre site located 4.7 miles northwest of downtown Gig Harbor. The property includes 76 acres of meadow, naturalistic pond, wetlands, and forest conservancy area. There are 22 acres of active recreation with baseball/softball fields, soccer field, tennis courts, basketball court, playground, and picnic areas.

Harbor WildWatch
Located across the street from The Maritime Inn, this small museum is in the Visitor Center in the historic home of the Skansie family. Our mission is to inspire stewardship for Puget Sound by providing learning opportunities about the environment.
Highlights include: getting to help feed the crabs and sea anemones in the touch tanks (around 3:00), viewing the underwater camera and the sand box. The sand box is designed to let people build mountains, valleys etc. Then you hold your hand over one spot for a minute and blue patches appear to indicate rain and to show which way the water would flow.
There are also microscopes available and skulls of various animals. Tours are free.

Autumn Sip & Stroll
This popular tasting event takes patrons on a tour along Gig Harbor’s beautiful waterfront sampling Northwest wines, brews, and tasty small bites at businesses serving as ‘Stroll Stops.’
The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance’s popular Winter Sip & Stroll, will be held on Saturday, October 14th from 12pm – 4pm. Downtown Art Walk
Downtown Artwalk happens the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am – 5pm with demonstrations happening at select galleries from 1 pm to 4pm.

Maritime Gig Festival & Blessing of the Fleet
The Maritime Gig is an annual event that takes place in Downtown Gig Harbor in the first weekend of June.
The Maritime Gig Festival is Gig Harbor’s signature summer event! This event is a kick-off to the summer and the many enjoyable events that take place throughout the harbor.
It features a variety of local crafters, businesses and a big parade down the main street of town.
The festival was created by businesses in Gig Harbor as a way to give back to the community. Over 20,000 people attend the event each year.

Summer Sounds at Skansie
100s of people turn out for these evening summer concerts running from June through the end of August at the beautiful waterfront Skansie Brother’s Park right in the heart of downtown.
Bring a chair or blanket but no tents or canopies are allowed. Small umbrellas can be used to shelter from excess sun or rain. Chairs can be set up after 3 pm on the day of the event.
Check the weather and dress accordingly as all seating is open-air with out cover.
